REFLECTION ON THE PROFILE OF STUDENT AS CRUCIAL TO MOTIVATION AND LEARNING COURSE EAD

Abstract

This article presents a reflexive analysis about the student profile in an specific environment of distance learning course aiming to understand its importance to motivation and learning strategies conception. For this purpose, we rely in authors such Belloni (1999) and Knowles (1980), amongst others to specific analyze this in an environment of Informatics Basic course, taught in distance to teachers employed by Minas Gerais state in public schools. The analysis was performed from the selfassessment questionnaire at the end of the course, linking it to some concepts of distance education. Results indicated that the profile of students was responsible for the motivational factor throughout the course. Such information favored the implementation of strategies for learning, and allows greater efficiency in the process from planning to development, considering also the type and language of teaching materials.

Mestre em Extensão Rural pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV - linha de pesquisa Redes sociais e processos de comunicação) e Bacharel em Comunicação Social pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Atuou como repórter e editor em veículos de comunicação impressos e TV. Foi editor durante 13 anos da TV Viçosa - emissora vinculada à UFV -, onde também atuou como diretor de 2003 a 2005. Atualmente, é responsável pelo setor de Conteúdo da CEAD-UFV, que abrange da elaboração de roteiros de vídeos à produção/adaptação de materiais didáticos. Na CEAD, responde, dentre outros trabalhos, pelo Espaço do Produtor – site de extensão rural desenvolvido e mantido pela Coordenadoria (https://www2.cead.ufv.br/espacoProdutor/scripts/inicio.php).

Professora da Universidade Federal de Viçosa na Coordenadoria de Educação Aberta e a Distância (CEAD). Mestre em Economia Familiar e doutora em Ciência e Tecnologia de Alimentos pela UFV, com ênfase em uso de novas tecnologias no processo educacional e aprendizagem ativa. Professora de cursos a distância da UAB/e-Tec/UFV. Atua no apoio pedagógico dos cursos; no treinamento e atendimento de professores e estudantes para o ambiente virtual de aprendizagem (PVANet).
