Abstract

This study presents an evaluation regarding the perception of creativity of a group of students from the University of Vale do Acaraú and the result of Torrance Creativity Test as applied to 12 Scholarship Fellows from the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation and Development. Concerning the methodology, we used the qualitative research of action research type, a questionnaire with an open question and the referred Creativity Test, both applied before and after the action. We can thus observe that students who self-assessed themselves as uncreative have presented results above the average results within the Torrance test, and we identified a significant evolution of the group when it comes to the first and the second evaluation, both in the Torrance test and in their perception of creativity. The workshop (40 hours) added elements that supported the very expression of creativity by the participants, specifically their personal perception as creative beings.
