The present article has verified through the current literature how the use of games helps in the mathematics teaching in elementary and high school. This is an integrative literature review, in which 11 articles published in English, Portuguese and Spanish and indexed in the Web of Science database were analyzed. The analysis evidenced the countless benefits that the use of games in the mathematics teaching provided to students, teachers and schools, enhancing the teaching-learning process. The main benefits found were ease of understanding and learning of mathematics, greater participation, interest and motivation of the students, better logical reasoning, more active posture and greater autonomy of the students, better social relationships and classes more dynamic and enjoyable. These results highlight the importance of using games in the mathematics teaching, helping the teaching-learning process of mathematics.References
