A CULTURA COMO MECANISMO DE CONTROLE: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A HOMOGENEIZAÇÃO CULTURAL NO ESPAÇO ESCOLAR

Resumo

Desconsiderar a diversidade cultural e legitimar uma única cultura hegemônica como verdadeira parece ser uma das estratégias de controle utilizadas no espaço escolar. Deste modo, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a relação entre culturas e mecanismos de controle. Para isso, foi utilizada como metodologia a pesquisa bibliográfica e alguns recortes foram feitos para atender o objetivo do artigo. A gênese da cultura hegemônica se dá no século XVIII, com o Iluminismo. Com o passar dos anos, estes conhecimentos foram se articulando com outros discursos, forjando uma cultura que perpassa diferentes instituições sociais em nosso tempo histórico, incluindo a escola. Além de marginalizar uma série de outras culturas, a cultura hegemônica pode funcionar como mecanismo de controle nas práticas efetivadas no espaço escolar, principalmente no que se refere à não tolerância em relação às diferenças culturas e dos sujeitos que ali circulam. Analisar a dinâmica cultural no espaço escolar destacando a relação entre culturas hegemônicas e periféricas como mecanismo de controle pode ser uma boa estratégia inicial para os professionais da educação que estão iniciando seus estudos nesta área, visando a um melhor entendimento das práticas culturais efetivadas no espaço escolar.
