Focus and Scope

The “Cadernos de Educação, Tecnologia e Sociedade - CETS” (Brazilian Journal of Education, Technology and Society - BRAJETS) is an Online and Open Access Scientific Periodic that aims to promote/disseminate theoretical and scientific discussions on emerging topics of Education, Technology and Society fields, in a multidisciplinary perspective. The CETS/BRAJETS is quarterly with publications in March, June, September, and December.

For publication in the CETS/BRAJETS, it is important that:

  1. The submitted manuscripts must be sent exclusively to the CETS/BRAJETS;
  2. The manuscript must present a maximum of 40% similarity or self-similarity (also known as plagiarism or self-plagiarism) with other text(s) (articles, dissertations, theses, etc.). The system used by Periódico CETS/BRAJETS for this verification is the my.plag.pt system.
  3. The manuscript must effectively represent relevant contributions and discussions on emerging topics within the Journal's area of ​​expertise;
  4. The scientific method must be made explicit and the analysis and conclusions must be clear and aligned with the proposed objective; and
  5. The contributions can be submitted in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish.
  6. All submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by a double-blind review process in which the following aspects will be analyzed:

                      a) Adequacy of the title to the content,
                      b) Publication structure,
                      c) Clarity and relevance of the objectives,
                      d) Methodology,
                      e) Results and discussion,
                      f) Citations and references appropriate, and
                      g) Relevance to the editorial line of the publication;

Aims and Mission

 

The scientific journal "Cadernos de Educação, Tecnologia e Sociedade" is intended to disseminate unpublished academic and scientific publications on topics that focus on research and theoretical reflections on emerging topics in the areas of Education, Technology and Society.

With a quarterly periodicity and with a continuous flow of submissions, the CETS/BRAJETS journal as its objective and mission:

  1. Sensitize students and professionals about emerging technical-scientific topics in Education, Technology, and Society fields;
  2. Enable exchange between educational and research institutions through special editions and diverse scientific collaborations;
  3. Promote the dissemination of the multi and interdisciplinary approach;
  4. To serve as a vehicle for continuing and permanent education, publishing original articles and enhancing perspectives, debates, and discussions on topics in today's society;
  5. Build a form of communication space to disseminate research, debates, theories and critical methods in the fields of Education, Technology, and Society; and
  6. Support and promote, whenever possible, technical-scientific conferences/seminars that may result in significant publications for the CETS/BRAJETS, provided that there is the direct participation of the editorial board of the journal and that there is a responsible scientific committee.

Submission Criteria

 

The manuscripts submitted must be unpublished and intended exclusively for the CETS/BRAJETS. The contributions can be submitted in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish. Relevant themes aggregated in specific collections in the fields covered by the journal can be published in Special Editions.

Editorial Policy

 

The original manuscripts submitted to the CETS/BRAJETS must comply with its Editorial Policy. The ethical criteria of the research must be respected and documented in supplementary material, if necessary. The concepts and opinions expressed in the articles, as well as the accuracy and source of the citations, are the responsibility of the author(s).

Peer Review Process

 

  1. All manuscripts submitted to the BRAJETS/CETS Journal will be analyzed for plagiarism and self-plagiarism, which currently uses the my.plag.pt system. If the manuscript presents 40% or more similarity/plagiarism or self-similarity (self-plagiarism), it will be rejected.
  2. The original manuscripts submitted to the CETS/BRAJETS will be previously evaluated by members of the Editorial Board who will examine the adequacy and the potential of the discussion for a possible publication, according to the aims and scope of the Journal.
  3. The original manuscripts will be destined to ad hoc invited reviewers, in accordance with their areas of expertise.
  4. All original manuscripts submitted will be evaluated by a double-blind review process preserving the identity of both the authors and their affiliations and the evaluators. This initial evaluation process lasts, on average, four/five months.
  5. The original manuscripts are analyzed in relation to the following aspects:
          a) Adequacy of the title to the content,
          b) Publication structure,
          c) Clarity and relevance of the objectives,
          d) Methodology adopted,
          e) Results and discussion,
          f) Citations and references appropriate, and
          g) Relevance to the editorial line of the publication;

  2. In addition, the works will be analyzed for
          a) Originality;
          b) Innovation;
          c) Importance, relevance and/or applicability;
          d) Technical, scientific and/or methodological quality; and
          e) presentation, organization, and language of the work.

  3. The reviewers complete the form and/or send documents with their evaluations directly on the platform, accepting, refusing, recommending corrections and/or suggesting necessary adjustments.
  4. The final result is then communicated to the author(s).
  5. A copy of the reviewers' comments is sent to the authors. If approved, the article goes through editorial advice, spelling and grammar review.
  6. Spelling and grammatical changes in the language of the article, as well as abstracts and titles in English, will be the responsibility of the author(s). No additions or modifications will be allowed after approval of the final review.

The CETS/BRAJETS follows the policy for Open Access Journals, offering immediate and free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides more international democratization of knowledge. No fees apply to the author(s), the reader(s), or reviewer(s), whether to submission, evaluation, publication, viewing or downloading of the articles. In addition, the CETS/BRAJETS follows the Creative Commons License (CC BY 4.0) allowing any disclosure of the article, as long as the original article is referenced. Therefore, no fees apply, whether for submission, evaluation, publication, viewing or downloading of articles.
