This article aims to reflect on our experiences within the elementary school at the time of the pandemic and how Paulo Freire's teachings helped us to maintain a humanized education even in an emergency remote teaching context in which we lost face-to-face human contact with the students. The reflections listed here, using the methodological approach of phenomenology proposed by Husserl, propose to expose and discuss the measures taken, as a proposal to reinforce and clarify that there was education in emergency remote teaching. As Freire argues, we are political beings and our positions towards society reflect our formation. That is, it is impossible for human beings to remain neutral, even more so in a pandemic context in which there were many feelings that permeated us and made us question the existence of humanity in our political representatives in the face of the challenges imposed in this context.
