The phenomena of globalization are being felt in all social areas, including Education. This narrative review aims to analyze the various conceptual interpretations about globalization and their respective influence in the field of Education. We also intend to identify processes of convergence in educational policies and the main reasons behind them. In the academic literature, the movements and reforms resulting from globalization phenomena are represented by various acronyms, which are the focus of this study: Global Education Policy (GEP), Common Global Educational Culture (CGEC), Global Structured Agenda for Education (GSAE), Global Education Industry (GEI), Global Educational Reform Agenda (GERA), and Global Education Reform Movement (GERM). The authors examined raise questions about the effects of globalization in the field of Education, namely: (1) those related to neoliberal ideology reforms; (2) the weakening of state sovereignty; (3) the diminishing democratic character in decision-making.References
