Abstract

Education has a crucial role in the formation of the subject, creating opportunities for critical and creative appropriation of the discourses of media and technological resources itself. In this perspective, this paper presents the results of an intervention conducted in a public school in the city of Goiânia-Go with students from the 8th grade of Junior High School. The goal was to emphasize the languages of printed media, TV and video as teaching tools subject of Physical Education, discussing the concepts of body and beauty conveyed by the media. Our theoretical framework was based on Freire (1988, 1984) and Betti (2003). At the end of the intervention, the results showed that physical education, designed from the media, can also be associated with the development of a critical consciousness privileging the conscious ability to read the world.
