Vietnam’s Patriotism and Its Significance in Comprehensive Education for Students

Patriotism is the most important value system in the value system of the Vietnamese people, it contains many important philosophies of life, guiding other value systems. The purpose of this study is to explore and clarify the system of philosophy of life in Vietnam’s patriotism; the origin, and characteristics of that system of philosophy of life as well as its significance in comprehensive education for students, meeting the training of high-quality human resources of society. Qualitative methods were used, and a semi-structured interview was conducted. The 20 interviewees are managers, lecturers, and students at several universities. The assessments of the interviewees were compared with previous studies and concepts, affirming the diversity and great values of the philosophy of life in Vietnam’s patriotism. This philosophy has great significance in educating students in the context of globalization and international integration of Vietnam; creating a young generation that is both intellectually gifted and morally pure, contributing to building a powerful Vietnam in the twenty-first century.
