This paper aims to reflect on the new regulatory framework of Inclusive Education in Portugal, taking into account the perspective of several authors and scientific studies conducted at national level, in the recent context of the approval of Decree-Law no. 54/2018, of July 6, which revoked Decree-Law no. 3/2008, of January 7, which regulated special education in Portugal, as amended by Law no. 21, 2008, of May 12, establishing the principles and rules that ensured inclusion. Thus, new challenges arise with the new paradigm of Inclusive Education in Portugal, assumed as the central issue in this scientific article, of a qualitative nature, based on literature review and document research. For this purpose, we will focus on some issues that are the concern of other school stakeholders. We will highlight strengths and weaknesses of the legislation in force, in a joint reflection, seeking to ensure a new commitment and raising the principle of equity in Portuguese schools.Downloads
